The Telegraph joins with Amazon to launch Echo Show

Quality digital publisher, The Telegraph, and Amazon have worked together to bring a brand new daily news flash briefing to Amazon’s Echo Show.

The flash briefings represent the next phase in The Telegraph’s strategy to ensure its quality, multimedia content is available on all platforms. “We’re delighted to have The Telegraph’s video flash briefing skill available to customers on Echo Show” said Fabrice Rousseau, Director, Amazon Alexa. “The Telegraph’s audio briefing has proven very popular, and the addition of video for Echo Show will enable customers to get rich news content from a highly reputable and trustworthy brand—just by asking.”  The new video flash briefing follows The Telegraph’s previous success as a UK launch developer on the original Amazon Echo with a regular audio flash briefing.

The Telegraph is delivering flash video news content alongside audio commentary, made by a dedicated in-house Telegraph team. All content is created specifically for the Echo Show with original stories customised and optimised, for the device.  The bulletins are regularly updated with each focusing on five key stories selected especially to be of interest to the Telegraph audience, drawing heavily on the insight and expertise of The Telegraph’s staff of writers and columnists.

The collaboration with Amazon provides The Telegraph another opportunity to engage new and existing customers whilst giving its audience a richer customer experience. This new offering follows from the success of The Telegraph’s other audio first experiences including podcasts and regular bulletins for both Amazon Echo and Google Home and will allow The Telegraph to reach an even wider audience building on its growing number of monthly listeners on smart speakers.
