This weekend, 16-17 November, Telegraph Women’s Sport is supporting the FA’s inaugural Women’s Football Weekend by publishing a special eight-page edition, in association with Barclays.

With no matches in the Premier League or Championship taking place, the FA has put the best games in the best slots, to introduce the game to new and bigger audiences as part of their ambition to sell out the women’s grounds week in, week out.

The Telegraph Women’s Sport special edition will include exclusive interviews with Manchester United Women manager, Casey Stoney and Arsenal’s 80-year-old super fan, Maria Petri. A column from England legend, Kelly Smith. Plus, previews of the matches taking place. As part of The Telegraph’s commitment there will also be a reporter at every ground, a live blog online and the special editions will be distributed to fans at the grounds.

Title sponsors of the Women’s Super League, Barclays, are using commercial placements throughout the supplement to promote their investment in the game and to establish the WSL as the biggest and most watched women’s league in the world.

Anna Kessel, The Telegraph Women’s Sport Editor, said:

“Since we launched Telegraph Women’s Sport in March this year, we have seen interest and demand for our journalism grow. This weekend offers a huge opportunity to further boost the popularity of women’s sport and we are delighted to be able to support this groundbreaking initiative.”

Tom Corbett, Head of Sponsorship and Media at Barclays, said:

“Barclays has made a multimillion-pound commitment to women’s sport. This weekend marks an important landmark in our ambition to transform the women’s game, champion the elite game, and give every girl in England access to football by 2024.”
