Telegraph Media Group Subscription Numbers – December 16, 2021

PRESS RELEASE
16 December 2021

Telegraph Media Group (TMG) remains focused on a subscriber-first strategy underpinned by long term investment in The Telegraph’s digital transformation: the numbers that reflect the success of our business are our subscriber numbers.

TMG’s transformation will continue into the following years and the 10-1-23 strategy remains central to our vision – namely the aim to reach 10 million registrants and 1 million subscribers to sign up to the Telegraph by 2023.

We are transparent with our core monthly subscriber numbers which are omni-channel.  We also share both volumes and average revenue per subscription, as below:

In November 2021, The Telegraph had:

  • 694,674 subscriptions across print and digital, with 10,160 net new subscriptions this month

  • Digital = 517,357 Print = 177,318

  • ARPS (blended average revenue per subscription): £176.74

Weekly average number of active subscriptions across the prior financial month. This is for the 4 weeks of November from the 1st of November until the 28th of November.  The last audit took place for the period ending September 2021. The next audit will take place for the period ending December 2021.

Key highlights included:

  • Coverage of the French fishing rights disagreement, Europe’s battle with a fourth Covid wave, and reporting of royal stories were popular with subscribers this month.

  • The Telegraph launched its annual Christmas Charity Appeal 2021, supporting four charities: Alzheimer’s Society, Dogs Trust, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Maggie’s. Donations can be made online here.
