Telegraph Sport welcomes Warren Gatland as a new rugby columnist
Warren Gatland has joined Telegraph Sport as a new rugby columnist. With an illustrious career as a former All Black and coach of the Lions, Wales, Ireland and London Wasps amongst others, his new column will offer readers a unique insight into the game.
In his debut column for The Telegraph, he outlines what concerns him the most about England in the countdown to the World Cup. Warren is the latest signing to the Telegraph’s unrivalled team of rugby commentators.
Warren Gatland said: “I am really looking forward to joining the rugby team at such a quality newspaper as The Daily Telegraph. It is an opportunity for me to give the readers an insight into my thoughts and ideas and I will always try to give them an honest opinion during what is going to be a fascinating and exciting journey through to the World Cup in France next year. If people disagree with me, that is fine as well. That is the great thing about sport, it is all about opinions and I believe that debate is healthy for the game.”
Gary Payne, Head of Sport, The Telegraph said “Warren is one of the most renowned names in rugby with a wealth of experience both as a player and coach and is a brilliant addition to our rugby coverage. I know our subscribers will greatly value his insight and perspective on the game”.
