The Telegraph appoints Aki Mandhar as Chief Operating Officer

On Friday, The Telegraph announced the appointment of Aki Mandhar as Chief Operating Officer of The Telegraph.

Aki’s role will see her take responsibility for commercial content, newspaper production and circulation, events and commercial operations. The role will see Aki report directly into Nick Hugh, CEO of The Telegraph.

Aki joins The Telegraph from OMD UK, where she was most recently UK Managing Director. Before this she was Managing Director for TED@MediaCom, where she led the entertainment division (TED). Aki was also Managing Director of MediaCom’s employer brands arm (‘Career’) and General Manager at TMP Worldwide/Monster.com where she led the agency’s commercial arm.

Aki’s appointment is part of The Telegraph’s ongoing commitment to lead change within the UK media industry. The company has successfully evolved into a multi-platform digital news brand that continues to deliver the highest-quality journalism. The Telegraph is also focused on diversifying into new revenue streams, including advertising, digital subscriptions, travel, financial services and events to meet the needs of The Telegraph’s discerning audience.
