Britain’s leading travel journalist and broadcaster Simon Calder joins The Telegraph to host new podcast

Simon Calder is joining The Telegraph as Travel Correspondent to host a new weekly podcast - The Travel Expert. Launching in June, this flagship travel show will feature a combination of consumer travel advice, inspirational travel destinations, expert interviews and a discussion of world travel news. Celebrating travel journalism, the show will join The Telegraph’s roster of award-winning news, investigation, interview and sports podcasts and be distributed for new and existing audiences across all podcast platforms, YouTube and social media.

In his new role, Calder will also deliver his characteristically straight-talking videos on social channels, providing travel advice and commentary, and lead the Telegraph’s Travel newsletter, which already has an audience of almost 200,000 subscribers.

Since the early 1990s Calder has covered every significant development in travel and transport, from the opening of Eurostar and the launch of easyJet to 9/11, the Icelandic volcano eruption in 2010 and the Covid pandemic. He has also featured on a number of TV travel series.
