Joining the former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher in The Telegraph’s team of expert commentators will be former England and Arsenal women’s international, Alex Scott.

One of the most celebrated names in women’s football, Scott racked up 140 caps for her country and won nine league titles and seven FA Cups with Arsenal. She was awarded an MBE in the 2017 New Year’s Honours list for her services to football.

Scott will write Telegraph columns and, like Carragher, feature in the Telegraph’s Total Football podcast during the tournament.

Alex Scott said: “I am delighted to be joining The Telegraph’s talented team in Russia for what promises to be a World Cup to remember. I can’t wait for it begin.”
