U.S Open Winner Naomi Osaka has guest edited a special edition of Telegraph Women’s Sport (TWS) published today.
Awarded TWS’s sportswomen of the year in 2020, Naomi has written an op-ed to introduce this month’s supplement. In her introduction she writes about the sportswomen who have gone before and inspired her, including her friendship with Billie Jean King, as well as how she found her voice in 2020.
The supplement also features Naomi’s selection of the seven sportswomen to watch in 2021 whom she believes will make a big impression this year. This month there is also a special interview with TWS columnist and sprinter Dina Asher-Smith.
Anna Kessel,The Telegraph’s Women’s Sports Editor, said: ‘Naomi Osaka was a stand out star on and off in the court in 2020 and we are honoured to start the year with her at the helm guest editing our award-winning supplement’.
TWS launched in March 2019, with a commitment to deliver unprecedented coverage of women’s sport across its platforms. In 2020 TWS won eight awards for their quality journalism, including the Reporting Diversity and Supplement of the Year awards at last year’s National Press Awards.
