The Telegraph Website Celebrates 27 Years

PRESS RELEASE
10 November 2021

The Telegraph’s website is marking its 27th birthday this week, with a 24-hour open day on its website on November 10, 8am to 8am November 11.

There will be open access on the site for all registered Telegraph readers with a wide range of editorial content made available on telegraph.co.uk that would normally sit behind the paywall.

The Telegraph became an online pioneer as the first national newspaper in Britain to launch a website in 1994. Launched as the Electronic Telegraph, the site consisted of a front page portal with links. This original launch site has evolved into today’s award-winning telegraph.co.uk, with its industry-leading 24-hour news coverage, comment, analysis, video and features.

As part of its ongoing investment in its digital transformation, earlier this year The Telegraph launched a new version of its app, combining the daily edition of The Telegraph newspaper with 24-hour news, comment, analysis, and features.
