TMG Subscription Numbers – January 19, 2023
Telegraph Media Group (TMG) remains focused on a subscriber-first strategy underpinned by long term investment in The Telegraph’s digital transformation: the numbers that reflect the success of our business are our subscription numbers.
We are transparent with our core subscription numbers which are omni-channel. We also share both volumes and average revenue per subscription, as below.
In December 2022, The Telegraph had:
733,731 subscriptions across print and digital, with -4,678 net new subscriptions this month
Digital = 586,867 Print = 146,864
ARPS (blended average revenue per subscription): £174.79
Key highlights for this quarter included:
Reporting of the appointment of Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister and the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement saw high levels of subscriber engagement.
Other topics seeing high reader interest over this period included analysis and features of the Men’s football World Cup in Qatar and Men’s T20 World Cup tournaments as well as continued coverage of the Ukraine War.
Subscriptions have increased +13,481 vs December 2021
Digital subscriptions have increased + 42,000 vs December 2021
Weekly average number of active subscriptions across the prior financial month. This is for the 5 weeks of December from the 28th November until the 1st January. The Subscriptions and ARPS (annual net revenue per subscription) totals are independently verified by PwC. The last verification took place for the period ending December 2022. The next verification will take place for the period ending March 2023.
